Niagara Falls - water element on American & Canadian border
Niagara Falls belong among the most famous waterfalls in the world and are certainly also the most visited in North America. It is a complex of three waterfalls on Niagara river that flows out of Lake Eire and falls in Lake Ontario. Niagara falls also separate off the USA and Canada. We decided to visit Canadian waterfalls because everybody recommended us to do so as it is much better there. Based on our own experience we agree because the Canadian side is for sure more various and nicer.
How to get to Niagara Falls from Toronto
If you don’t have a car like us, the best way how to get there is by bus. We went with Megabus that we took at 610 Bay Street downtown Toronto. Bus dropped us off at the Niagara Falls Bus Terminal in Erie Ave. From here we took 4 km walk along the river with spectacular views. You can go by bus but in our opinion it is needless and overpriced. Within less than an hour we reached the waterfalls.
Boat trip to the falls
Niagara Falls are above all ordinary in one thing – you can get pretty close to the falls if you take Niagara Cruises boat trip. This is possible to do because the water flowage is not so strong therefore it is safe to go. For only 22,55 CAD/person (cca 18,30 USD) you get so close that the mist and waterfall drops rinse you. It is impressive experience. And rain coats are included in price! 😉 Niagara Falls for sure were not so fascinating and huge like Iguazu Falls but the opportunity to stay so close to the falls is so unique that we simply could not miss it and are very happy we took that one day trip from Toronto within our trip around the world to experience it.
If you have enough time like us, go to the town. In local casino building you can get quite good and cheap food and maybe you find there a souvenir to take back home with you. And if not, at least you bring back home very unique experience from the Niagara Falls.
